The Attorney Development & Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for providing support for all aspects of attorney development and recruitment work for the WDC office. This position may serve as the primary point person leading specific functions in recruiting or development and will provide support for US-wide multi-office functions and initiatives as needed.



  • Provides support for lateral recruiting, obtains approvals to initiate searches, interfaces with search firms and other search tools such as LinkedIn, distributes resumes, oversees applicant tracking, works with practice leaders on candidate selection process, schedules interviews, gathers feedback, coordinates offer decision process, offer letters, handle communications and new hire paperwork, conflicts clearance, moving expenses, work authorization visas and first day orientation schedule.
  • Provides support for student recruiting; manages law school registration process and host office coordination for on-campus interviews; identifies interviewers and prepares packets for OCI; collects and distributes resumes, oversees applicant tracking, coordinates schedules for candidates and manages callback process, prepares materials for Hiring Committee meetings and handles all follow up communications.
  • Assists with coordination of the Summer Program, including events, assignments, training, orientation, performance reviews, etc.
  • Survey preparation, data compilation and report generation, such as Candidate Status Report, Annual Associate Survey for Associates Committee, NALP form, firm surveys, website components, orientation binders, and other recruiting materials


  • Prepares and distributes monthly in-house training schedule. Coordinates arrangements for in-house training programs for speakers, communication and RSVP process, firm wide calendar maintenance, space, A/V, catering, materials, evaluations, CLE administration; interfaces with other offices on logistics and CLE for multi-office programming.
  • Track and maintain DC Bar pending admissions chart
  • Track and process State Bar dues payments
  • Track and process DC bar statements
  • Complete and file Virginia Bar MCLE applications with the Virginia State Bar
  • Handles data entry, administration and reporting for CLE tracking software; sends reminders to attorneys with compliance deadlines approaching
  • Administers process to ensure attorney compliance with state bar admission, CLE requirements and state bar dues payments, in coordination with US wide Attorney Personnel
  • Assists with coordination of periodic firm-wide training events such as Income Partner Orientation, Business Development Coaching, multi-office litigation training programs, etc. as needed


  • Coordinates on-boarding process for fall associate class including extranet site, collection and tracking of information and paperwork, reimbursement for bar exam fees and relocation expenses, face book, fielding questions; assists with coordination of orientation materials and first year training lunches
  • Coordinates on-boarding process for all attorney new hires
  • Assists with attorney human resources issues such as employment verifications, personnel file records, office transfers, etc.
  • Prepares/maintains WDC headcount, attorney arrival/departure chart and related reporting.
  • Assists with coordination and scheduling of the oral review process for WDC attorneys.
  • Assists with attorney retention initiatives – attorney morale/satisfaction, mentoring, lateral integration, etc.
  • Assists with coordination of initiatives set forth by WDC Diversity Committee, WDC Women’s Forum, and WDC Pro Bono Committee related to recruitment.
  • Monitors WDC diversity statistics and support efforts to improve diversity results
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives



  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
  • 2 years+ of experience in the Legal Recruitment or Development industry; at a private sector law firm preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of software tools such as PeopleSoft, CE Manager, LawCruit a plus; experience with similar database tools for applicant tracking, continuing education tracking, HR information a plus; proficiency with MS Office Suite applications including Excel, Word and Outlook required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Proficiency in virtual platforms such as WebEx and Zoom
