The Accounts Receivable Manager, in support of the Assistant Director of Accounts Receivable, oversees daily operations of the Firm’s North American Accounts Receivable team, focusing on effective client collections and partner accounts receivable needs. Primary responsibilities include supervising and managing a team of collectors, providing exemplary service to partners and clients, implementing collection strategies and ensuring adherence to Firm policies. This role supports the Assistant Director in executing departmental strategies, driving operational and service excellence, problem-solving and fostering innovation.

 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 

  • Leads the collections operations of the U.S. Accounts Receivable team
  • Ensures the Accounts Receivable team is executing the defined departmental collection strategy
  • Leads, trains and mentors departmental staff
  • Develops strong relationships with Firm partners, clients, and colleagues
  • Leverages data insights, metrics and KPI’s to inform strategic decisions, enhance performance measurement and optimize collections effectiveness
  • Fosters a collaborative, innovative and empowering culture
  • Masters departmental software applications; leads upgrades and optimal utilization of same
  • Serves as the lead for departmental projects, application upgrades and special requests
  • Regularly meets with the Assistant Director of Accounts Receivable to discuss departmental performance, mentoring of the team, areas of concern and/or any opportunities for improvement
  • Supports pursuit of client payments when appropriate
  • Performs ad hoc requests and other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration strongly preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when experience is directly related to the needs and expectations of the role

 

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of six years of related experience in the professional services industry, required
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience, required
  • Collections experience, required
  • Experience in legal or other professional services environment, strongly preferred

 

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, required
  • Expertise with financial and collection software, required
  • Sophisticated acumen in data analysis and tools, strongly preferred
