The Marketing Technology Manager will serve as a consultant, strategic director, and creative thinker for all Business Development and Marketing (BD&M) technology platforms, with the goal of optimizing their use and improving content distribution to support the Firm’s brand and goals. This role will provide support for initiatives that align with the Firm’s strategic plan and will require working closely and collaboratively with the rest of the Business Development and Marketing department.

 

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 

  • Leadership in Technology Initiatives: Serves and a resource and strategic partner to BD&M, providing guidance on additional business development and marketing technology initiatives, identifying future opportunities through updates to the Marketing Technology roadmap.
  • Collaborative Strategy Development: Lead collaborative discussions with relevant stakeholders to formulate strategies leveraging technology in support of BD&M initiatives.
  • Cross-Platform Data Integration: Supervise the integration of data across various platforms (e.g., email, events, lawyer activity) into the CRM system (InterAction), ensuring cohesive usage and reporting.
  • Email Marketing Oversight: Direct the functionality, data management, reporting, and continuous improvement of the Firm’s email marketing system (currently Vuture, moving to HubSpot) to maximize engagement.
  • Performance Metrics Monitoring: Participate in the utilization of web, email, and analytics tools to establish, track, and report on key performance indicators, measuring the effectiveness of the Firm’s web properties, intranet, and other marketing efforts. Interface with internal attorney and administrative departments to understand needs and reporting requirements for marketing technology systems in collaboration with the Firm’s marketing and business development professionals.
  • Marketing Technology Proficiency & Training: Gain a comprehensive understanding of all marketing technology platforms, assisting in maintenance, enhancements, and user support to optimize functionality and design. Lead the creation and implementation of training efforts for marketing-specific technology applications, such as InterAction.
  • Department Liaison: Acts as the BD&M department liaison with the IT, Innovation and Financial Services departments to leverage existing system architecture, ensure marketing systems are in line with overall Firm technology program, and that technology systems are in line with the business development priorities set by the Firm.
  • Vendor Evaluation, Coordination and Compliance: Assess vendors and their products for compatibility with current and future technology stacks, acting as the primary liaison between Procurement and the business development and marketing team. Oversees BD&M department’s data privacy compliance obligations.
  • Other: Supports cross-team and -office digital marketing, event and business development initiatives, as well as evolving Firm objectives. Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives.

 

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job

 

Professional Experience:

  • 7+ years in a business development, marketing and/or technology-related position in the professional services arena (e.g., law, accounting, or consulting) with a preference for law

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including strong experience in Excel
  • CRM experience (experience with LexisNexis InterAction preferred), email marketing experience, including HTML and CSS knowledge (Vuture and/or HubSpot experience preferred) and database experience required. Familiarity with other analytics tools and dashboards preferred, such as PowerBI. Familiarity with the entire ecosystem of digital communications required

Management Accountabilities:

  • Manages processes for direct reports performance regarding appraisals, annual compensation, goal setting and performance counselling
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
  • Operational budget analysis and recommendations
  • Conducts analysis of staffing levels and participation in the recruitment process
  • Able to determine and implement change processes to improve workflow efficiencies
  • Process- and service-oriented with strong leadership and project management skills
  • Able to set priorities and delegate in an efficient manner
