If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are exceptional client service, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness, and adaptability, you may be the person we are seeking to join our Accounting and Analysis department in our Chicago office, as a Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst.

 

The Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst supports the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager and other key business leaders with Firm-wide strategic financial planning & analysis activities to help ensure the financial health and integrity of the company.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Work with the FP&A Manager and broader team to support the entire annual budgeting process ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic priorities (including analysis and recommendations of departmental expense budgets and monthly spreads; capital expense budget; and attorney headcount budgets)
  • Analyze Firm-wide financial performance against strategic goals, providing meaningful insight and identifying areas for improvement
  • Interpret, analyze and review financial results for the various segments of the business i.e. Practice Groups, Accelerated Growth Groups, etc.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of financial models and analysis to support key business decisions including cash outlook and forecasting, capital allocation and other strategic objectives
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of long-term financial forecasts for strategic planning purposes
  • Forge a strong relationship with other members of the FP&A team as well as other groups across the Firm (Accounting & other financial services, BD&M, HR, IT, etc)
  • Assist with transformation of relevant financial systems, policies and processes to support the evolving needs of the Firm
  • Perform other ad-hoc activities

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • Advanced Degree in Business/Finance/Accounting and/or CPA is a plus
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job

 

Professional Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, Accounting or Business Analytics required

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills required
  • PowerBi, SQL, Aderant, TM1 and Iridium experience (or equivalent system) preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • May require travel to other offices as needed

 

The typical pay scale for this position is between $86,700 and $114,700, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
