The eBilling Systems and Implementations Supervisor assumes a key leadership role within the Firm’s Global eBilling Team. Primary responsibilities include leading the implementations of new clients to eBilling or those that transition vendors, ownership of Firm eBilling vendor systems and clearinghouse (BillBlast), system troubleshooting and supervision of the Firm’s eBilling Appeals Process. The role is both highly technical and service oriented, requiring both deep legal eBilling expertise and exemplary support of partners, clients and the Firm’s Billing Department to effectively manage the Firm’s WIP & AR Cycle.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:      

  • In collaboration with Global eBilling Manager and eBilling Operations Supervisor, drives strategic departmental initiatives
  • Coordinates access to all eBilling vendor sites for all Firm employees globally
  • Leads all implementation efforts for new eBilling clients or transitioning clients
  • Provides direct technical oversight of the Firm’s eBilling clearinghouse (BillBlast, etc)
  • Owns relationships with all eBilling vendor sites
  • Direct Supervisor for 6 eBilling Administrators
    • Direct Reports may be local and off-site
  • Directs daily, monthly and other departmental priorities, ensuring timely completion and communication to appropriate parties
  • Provides training and guidance to team members and ensures deadlines are met timely
  • Assesses departmental practices and processes; recommends and implements enhancements to same
  • Performs and supports various departmental tasks/functions, including, but not limited to:
    • Overseeing management of departmental mailbox, ensuring all activity is addressed timely
    • Ensuring client profiles are thorough and current
    • Processing eBills of assigned clients
    • Submission of client rate submissions
    • Assisting with departmental rate and invoice submission backlogs
    • Coordinating accrual and other information requests
    • Documentation of eBilling procedures and processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

 

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experiences have been directly related to the functions of the job

 

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of three years of legal eBilling experience, required
  • Prior legal billing experience, preferred
  • Prior leadership experience, preferred

 

Technical Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of eBilling platforms (e.g. eBilling Hub, Serengeti, Bridgeway, DataCert, CounselLink, Collaborati, T360, et al), required
  • Strong knowledge of LEDES and XML formats, required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required
  • Experience working with Elite, Aderant and InTapp systems, preferred
  • Working knowledge of SQL tables, preferred

  • Participates in recruiting, interviewing and transition of assigned staff
  • Manages processes for direct reports in regards to performance appraisals, annual compensation, goal setting and performance counselling
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
  • Able to determine and implement change processes to improve workflow efficiencies
  • Process- and service-oriented with strong leadership and project management skills
  • Able to set priorities and delegate in an efficient manner
  • Provides professional development (training/mentoring) opportunities
  • Able to address performance issues in a timely manner

 

The typical pay scale for this position is between $109,300 and $144,600, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
