The Paralegal will primarily work under the direction of attorneys and paralegals to support the Public Policy, Regulatory & Government Affairs practice group. This position will perform substantive research, provide practice support, maintain positive contact with clients, and observe confidentiality in all client matters.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Assist paralegals and attorneys on practice-related projects
  • Work under close supervision of an experienced paralegal or attorney
  • Assist with managing large data sets and analyzing complex information
  • Research and compile information to support policy development and analysis
  • Prepare comprehensive reports
  • Schedule and organize logistics for meetings with clients and government offices
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

 

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

 

Professional Experience:

  • Entry level

 

Specific Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required
  • Strong internet research skills, preferred

 

Performance Traits:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm, clients, outside vendors, and government agencies
  • Client relationship and communications skills, including evidence of excellent reading skills, writing ability with clarity, analytical skills, ability to summarize research results with brevity and professionalism are essential
  • Ability to work under pressure in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
  • Strong organizational skills and the proven ability to handle multiple projects, take accountability for deadlines amid shifting priorities, and early identification of potential schedule changes
  • Strong attention to detail, quality control, responsiveness, and accuracy
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
  • Exercises solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed

 

The typical pay scale for this position is between $50,300 and $66,600, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
