If you enjoy working with team members whose defining characteristics are exceptional client service, initiative, professionalism, responsiveness, and adaptability, you may be the person we are seeking to join our Business Intake and Conflicts department in our Chicago office, as a Conflicts Research Specialist.

 

The Conflicts Research Specialist processes conflict of interest searches timely and accurately, following very detailed search rules, process documentation and instructions from Intake Analysts.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:  

  • Runs conflict searches on the Firm’s internal conflicts database to create a conflict report for review by Conflict Lawyers
  • Completes daily search assignments on time, producing high quality conflict reports while using appropriate judgement to filter data to be included in results
  • Handles highly sensitive and confidential search requests
  • Participates in ongoing training on business intake applications, rules and processes as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

 

Professional Experience:

  • Previous law firm experience helpful

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm
  • Exercises solid strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities
  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail and to carefully follow instructions and adhere to established procedures is critical
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
  • Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs

 

The typical pay scale for this position is between $59,400 and $78,500, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
