Supports attorneys and paralegals in a variety of clerical and legal support tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of the legal team. Provides assistance with document preparation, and legal forms.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:      

  • Works under the direction of attorneys and paralegals
  • Accounts for file organization and data input using relativity, iManage, Compulaw and Pacer
  • Assists with filings, filling out forms, research with courts, working with our Docketing department
  • In the litigation practice area, usually is assigned to a specific case and works with a specific paralegal on that case
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications:      

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
  • Paralegal certificate from ABA approved paralegal, preferred

 

Professional Experience:

  • Prior experience working in a law firm, preferred
  • We are willing to train the right person

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, required
  • Research capabilities
  • Able to learn new software quickly

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities
  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion

 

The typical pay scale for this position is between $69,900 and $92,500, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
