The SharePoint & .Net Solution Architect will be part of the Risk, Marketing & Admin Systems team which serves the Business Services groups across the firm with solutions to achieve productivity, collaboration and uniformity. We focus on In-House developed solutions, vended solutions and the SharePoint Online platform to support that.

 

The SharePoint & .Net Solution Architect is responsible for architecting and delivering technology via SharePoint Online within the Microsoft Stack. This includes the Architecture, Framework and Delivery of our Intranet and other browser based solutions that deliver value to our business partners. Additionally this role will oversee general usability, integrations and adherence to all Mayer Brown technology guidelines.

 

This role provides leadership to our application platform consisting of solutions delivered via the SharePoint platform as well as custom native browser applications. It works closely with IT Architects and Engineers from all other technology teams.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 

  • Is a subject matter expert for all SharePoint & .Net Framework solutions while providing support to the Risk, Marketing & Admin Systems portfolio of solutions
  • Works cross-functionally with internal/external IT partners to implement and manage collaboration systems to meet the objectives of our Business Services partners
  • Works closely with IT engineers and architects throughout the global technology environment
  • Leads the development of long-term strategic goals for collaboration solutions, software, and data integrations
  • Functions as a Technical Lead on projects by developing an understanding of existing systems and processes as well as identifying/determining future needs
  • Architects and implements collaboration technologies and advanced functions in technology
  • Develops and documents SharePoint & .Net Framework best practices, guidelines, security, and governance for the our Applications portfolio
  • Works with IT and business leaders to manage delivery and operationalize updates to our products
  • Works closely with the IT Information Security team, prioritizing safety of the firm’s people, systems and content
  • Interprets complex technical documentation and effectively communicates information to individuals at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing
  • Responds to support escalations and investigate, analyze, document, and provide root cause resolution to reported incidents
  • A mentor to other team members and provide training if required
  • Fosters trust and builds relationships with the other Information Technology teams both globally and within the region, especially with co-owners of other M365 products
  • Attends regular vendor meetings for areas of expertise, stays informed of latest technology roadmaps, security notifications, and bug/hot fixes
  • Ensures vendors provide proper levels of support, maintains SLA’s, and provide root cause analysis for escalated issues
  • Ensures all team, departmental and firm policies and procedures are adhered to, including technical change management and service continuity
  • Where appropriate, attends user groups independently or with senior managers and makes recommendations on improvements
  • Attends and contributes to team meetings
  • Completes all administrative tasks, i.e., (time tracking, project and task updates, trouble ticket notes, status reports, responding to email, etc.) accurately and on time
  • Adheres to the Firm’s IT Service Delivery standards and Change Control processes
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience is related to the functions of the role
  • Microsoft 365 certified – Azure Solutions Architect Expert, is preferred

 

Professional Experience: 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of enterprise level SharePoint Online & .Net Solution Architecture
  • Prior experience architecting SharePoint Online solutions, is required
  • Prior end user facing experience, is required
  • Prior Experience working in a global organization, preferred
  • Prior Experience deploying and managing SharePoint Online solutions in Azure DevOps

 

Technical Skills: 

  • Proven experience with SharePoint Online and SharePoint Development Framework (SPFx)
  • Proven experience with .Net development (C#, ASP.Net, MVC, MVVM)
  • Holistic knowledge of the M365 Suite is required
  • In-depth knowledge working with Microsoft OneDrive, required
  • In-depth knowledge of M365 security and compliance including MS Purview, is required
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure AD is required
  • In-depth knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of RESTful services and APIs
  • Knowledge of PowerShell including scripting, is required
  • Knowledge of MS Power Platform is preferred
  • Knowledge of Intapp Workspaces is helpful

The typical pay scale for this position is between $150,000 and $198,000, although the actual wage or salary could be lower or higher if the candidate’s education, experience, skills and internal pay alignment are different from those specified.
